award_3Thanks sunniefairy over at octopi crafts for saying my blog is fabulous!
Here’s the rules:
1) Put the award on your blog
2) Put a link on your blog of the blogger who gave you the award
3) Nominate 5 other bloggers…

Okay, i’m no good at this part – if you’re reading and you’d like your blog to be marked as fabulous, drop me a line!

4) Leave a comment on their blog notifying them
5) List 5 things that I’m addicted to:

  1. Diet Coke
  2. Reading blogs
  3. Making my art
  4. Dyeing fabric
  5. Reading science fiction

On other fronts, I’m just about recovered from the hard drive fiasco. The happy part of this ordeal was I happened into a FABULOUS deal on a widescreen monitor over at Best Buy (it was the display model), so I’ve got more screeen real estate now – yippee!

I’ve also had a wicked cold, but am over the hump on that. Now I’m itching to make something, it’ll be small, as the Redlands Art Association is having a “Mini Multi Media Show” with entries due Feb 13, so that’s what I’m ruminating about now!

Backups are good!

Boo Hoo – my computer is sick! Thank God I bought a external drive to back up all my files, and used Vista to automatically back up once a week – if the worst happens I won’t have lost much. But once the computer gets fixed, I’m going to change those setting to back up every night! Wish me luck!

Nice to know – I’m using my kids computer which is still able to connect to the internet wirelessly, even though mine is down…this is new to us! I’m using the router that came with the Fios installation we had a couple of months ago – with our previous setup, if my computer was off…no-one couple access the internet.

Look – it’s a quilt!

I’ve spent so much time sewing bags and dyeing scarves, it’s been a while since I’m made an actual quilt! This one is for a baby due to Co & Vatsan in under a month! I also made a pillow from scraps so I could try out the quilting scheme I was thinking about before committing to quilting the quilt!

I also made some tie dyed baby bags – these were the best things to put my boys to sleep in…I wish I had had Dharma trading available when they were little – they have blanks that are perfect:

Funny thing is, although I told them that they should use it – Vatsan insisted it go on the wall! I guess this means they like it!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year all! I’m busy working away in my newly fabulous sewing room, I’ve got a baby shower gift due in a week…not to mention that I’m throwing the shower! But I wanted to say hey, and in the spirit of the new year, post my “inclinations” (the word “resolutions” has too much baggage and expectations in it for me).

To keep it short and simple, I’m inclined to get myself and my little business out there in the blog-o-sphere more this year.

  • I want to give back to the world I’ve learned so much from, so I’d like to write up a few tutorials – the 1st of which will be how I make my “going green” totes.
  • I’ve also purchased my 1st ad! On Scoutie Girl – check it out, I’m so official!
  • I’m also going to write a series of posts on the artists that have inspired me. I’d love to acknowledge all the great people out there sharing with random folk who happen upon their space.

That’s it, in a nutshell.

And because no post is complete without a picture:

Recursive Study #1, the first art quilt I sold, less than a year ago!
